The Pulse Discharge Candle ( PDC ) Filter is a high-tech filter system, consisting of vertically positioned filter candles in a vertical tank. The filter candles can be supplied in polypropylene or stainless steel as standard materials. The exterior of the candles has a very open and rigid support layer, to which the filter medium is attached. The filter medium that is used to cover the filter candles can be chosen such that a clear filtrate is instantly obtained. The cake can be discharged in solid or concentrated slurry form. After drying the filter cake the cleaning is done by a Back Wash or a Back Pulse with air or gas. Because the filter candles are positioned on separate manifolds, they can be cleaned one manifold at a time.
